Microsoft Office 365 Personal launched, targets 25 million new users in India

Microsoft has now announced the availability of Office 365 Personal for individual users through which they can connect at least two home devices to the service. To avail the service one needs to install it on one of the desktop between a Windows PC and a Mac, a smartphone and a tablet. One needs to pay an annual subscription to use the Office 365 Personal service which is fixed at Rs 3,299 or someone wanting a monthly package can subscribe it for Rs 330.

Commenting on the launch of Office 365 Personal, Ram Kumar Pichai, General Manager, Microsoft Office Division said, "More and more consumers today are looking for a home productivity suite which will allow them to move between devices and have constant access to important documents online. Office 365 Personal will address the needs of all these consumers."

Office 365 is offered as a cloud service allowing up to 20GB of cloud storage and Microsoft claims that it has grown a lot since its launch last year and has become more than a 2 billion dollar business. The service is meant for customers who wish to PowerPoint, Excel, One Note and more on a device of his choice. This intuitive software is available for sale beginning this week at all major retail outlets such as Croma, Reliance Digital and Jumbo Electronics as well as online on the Microsoft Store.

With its devices and services Microsoft aims to reach out to 25 million new Indian users in the next 12 months.
