According to Bloomberg, Microsoft Corp. has revealed that its AI assistant for Windows will start to roll out on September 26 and the Office AI app will become generally available on November 1. This development is a result of Microsoft's continued efforts to include generative AI into its product lineup.

At an event in New York, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that Microsoft's Copilot-branded AI assistants provide a seamless experience across operating systems, apps and devices. For example, Microsoft showed how a user can ask Copilot to locate a flight reservation from their text messages.

"We've seen that the most magical and powerful moments people have had with AI are when it learns about context that goes far beyond what's in front of them. It requires that what we think of as separate categories today search, productivity, operating system devices everything is converging and evolving," Nadella said. Over the past year, Microsoft has reportedly revamped its most important products to include artificial intelligence technology that can generate fresh content from massive data sets.

This change includes several products such as Windows, Office, Bing search, security software and customer and financial solutions. This initiative is based mainly on the OpenAI GPT-4 technology, in which Microsoft has made a significant investment of 13 billion dollars.

The report also points out that the Office product, launched in March, has been tested with about 600 customers and is priced at $30 per user per month, plus current fees for most business customers. This product allows employees to use both online and in-house data for tasks such as spreadsheet analysis, creating slides, and forecasting future business problems.

In May, Microsoft introduced a Windows product that can be accessed with a button on the taskbar of the computer screen that opens a side panel to help customers. This tool facilitates operations such as copying and pasting text, rewriting, summarizing and clarifying content, among others. Windows users can also ask Copilot questions just like they interact with Bing AI chat.
