Microsoft Surface Event: Everything You Need to Know So Far

During an event in New York, Microsoft showcased new Surface laptops and provided information on the upcoming release of Windows 11, which will have the embedded Copilot AI assistant.

In his opening remarks, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella discussed AI and how it is altering human-computer interaction while also promising to unlock new possibilities. He remarked, "I mean, it's insane in a way, the 1990s seem to be returning. Being in a situation where we're introducing some software innovation and thoroughly enjoying this entire journey is exciting.” This concludes the company's event announcements.

Bing Chat gets DALLE-3

Bing Chat has two big updates: personalized responses and integration of DALLE-3 with Bing Image Creator. The Personalized Responses feature allows Bing Chat to reference the content of users' search history and use that information to contextualize your response. Bing Chat Enterprise is also getting a number of updates, including support for multimodal visual search and Image Creator, which is now available in the Microsoft Edge mobile app.

Windows 11 update

Microsoft has announced that it will launch the next major update to Windows 11 on September 26. "With over 150 new features, the next Windows 11 update is one of our most ambitious yet, bringing the power of Copilot and new experiences with AI. Apps like Paint, Photos, Clip champ and more right to your Windows PC," the company said in a statement.

The update includes a new copilot in the Bing search engine and the Edge browser. Users can launch Copilot by holding down the Windows key and pressing C. It's Microsoft's answer to Google's Duet AI, another creative AI assistant that runs on Google Workspace.

New Surface devices

The Surface Laptop Go is finally getting a successor, the Surface Laptop Go 3. The new model has an Intel Core i5 processor with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB. In terms of hardware and design, the Surface Laptop Go 3 looks almost identical to the previous version. That means it's ultra-slim and portable. The price of the laptop starts at $ 799.

Surface Laptop Studio 2

Surface Laptop Studio 2 is twice as fast as its predecessor. It has Intel 13th Gen i7 H and Nvidia RTX 4050/4060 processors. It has a 14.4-inch display that can be configured with up to 64GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 starts at $1,999. The new Surface devices come with an updated Windows 11 operating system that includes Copilot software. The new Surface models will be available on October 3rd.
