New Update

Samsung gains the top spot in the club again.LG has strengthened its position a little over last year. HP-Compaq remains at third position, while IBM loses a spot to come at number five. A new player, Sony, enters the club just before it. The trend we saw last year of pure-play monitor vendors being squeezed out by full PC vendors continues this year too. The only exception here is Sony, which is the only pure-play monitor vendor. Samsung enjoyed a nearly equal percentage distribution of votes across North and East India. By sheer count of votes, it received maximum support from North, which is expected as it's headquartered in Delhi. LG received the highest support from the West followed by North.

HP-Compaq was strong largely in the North, while IBM surprisingly enjoyed the maximum support from the East. Sony got equal support from all across. Though Samsung, LG and HP-Compaq enjoy a high degree of brand loyalty, their biggest threat is the other vendors that didn't make it to the club this year.
