Right on the heels of Google making its Android Wear platform announcement, Motorola has become the first recipient of the smartwatch platform which has enabled the company to foray into the smartwatch space with its very own Moto 360 device. The company was speculated to be working on a smartwatch and with Moto 360 those reports have been answered.

Without divulging much about the device, the company has previewed its look which resembles an actual timepiece. The company is said to be making use of round face and premium materials for the make of Moto 360.

"The wristwatch has been through several evolutions since it first became a popular fashion accessory more than 100 years ago," the company said in the post. "Our vision for Moto 360 was to celebrate that history as we re-imagined the wristwatch for the future," the company noted via its blog.

Motorola has said that Moto 360 will facilitate users to get email alerts, missed calls notification, and calendar appointments with the twist of the wrist. That's not all, powered by Android Wear; Moto 360 supports the renowned "Ok Google" command. Moto 360 will be available in a variety of styles globally in Summer 2014, starting from US, the post noted.

One can surely say that with Moto G, Moto X and now Moto 360, Motorola is well and truly on its way to reclaiming its lost reputation.
