The latest Intel Z68 Express chipset based mobo --Gigabyte Z68A-GD80-B3 is in the ATX form factor and is compatible with the LGA1155 socket which means an Intel core i3, i5, i7, Pentium and Celeron family processors can be plugged onto it. The mobo finds support for DDR3 memory modules. The board has USB 3.0, SATA 6 Gbps support which are again present on the latest boards. There are 2 Gigabit LAN ports that can be teamed together simultaneously. The motherboard includes Virtu Switchable Graphics, based on LucidLogix Virtu technology, which allows users to enjoy both graphics power of integrated GPU and discrete GPU. It switchs to integrated GPU for HD movie playback, video transcoding and general applications to save system energy, or release full power for hardcore 3D gaming by switching to discrete GPU automatically.

The motherboard scored 3337 in 3DMarks 06. In PCMark Vantage, the score was 4656, which is not impressive as compared to Asus P8Z68-V Pro motherboard. In CineBench 11.5, the score was 6.21 points.

Bottomline: Decent performer, but the price is towards the higher side.
