The Problem: IT support for a straddle type monorail system complying with the highest international standards of safety and reliability besides allowing high manoeuvrability by negotiating sharp curves and handling curves up to 6% was the need of the hour.
The Solution: The solution would have to increase the pace of the project by casting the beams and the rails within a strict budget and a tight deadline.
The Result: With the implementation, solutions were found to produce the co-ordinates of each and every guide way beam at every .5m ( total no. of beams are around 1800 with an average span of each beam is about 25m.)
Three sets of co-ordinates were produced: casting co-ordinates of individual beams, which is required to cast the beams in accordance with the given input criteria, global co-ordinates of the beams and piers, which is required to place the pier and the beams in global position, on-site based on the input alignment drawings and third, erection co-ordinates,
to enable erection of the beams on existing site.
