After the recent announcement of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean platform at the Google I/O, the US major has now talked about its upcoming Android version which will be Android 4.4 codenamed KitKat. We have been hearing about Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie to be next iteration of Android but Google felt that unlike KitKat many people across the world may not have tasted the Key Lime Pie ever.

Speaking on behalf of Android, Sundar Pichai made the announcement about the next Android version and also informed the press that Android is now running on more than one billion devices across the globe. This is the first time in Android's history when brand has associated with Google to lend its name for an Android version.

KitKat will be the latest sweet dessert to be named as an Android version. The first Android version was Cupcake, then Donut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, the less known Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and now KitKat.

Interestingly, either party involved Google or Nestle will be paying for this arrangement but from a marketing point of view, one would feel that Nestle is getting a better brand recall and visibility.

Google has not informed when Android 4.4 will be available for devices i.e. smartphone and tablet but according to the company ‘it will make an amazing Android experience that will be available to all.'
