Nokia's first-ever Windows RT 8.1 powered Lumia 2520 tablet is here!

Nokia, as expected has taken the wrap of it's first-ever tablet in the Lumia range, the Lumia 2520. The tablet is based on the latest Windows RT 8.1 operating system that has seen Microsoft bringing back the popular Start button back to the OS. The tablet was showcased alongside plethora of other new products from the Finnish company at its Nokia World event taking place in Abu Dhabi.

The tablet sports a 10.1-inch full HD 1920x1080 pixels display and packs some impressive hardware and features, all priced at $499 (Rs 30,000 approx). The company has informed that Lumia 2520 will be available in US, UK and Finland later this year, however no word as to when the tablet might reach Indian shores.

The tablet packs a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2 GB RAM. For connectivity, with Snapdragon 800 chipset, the tablet offer 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and USB 3.0 among other basic options. The storage capability rests at 32 GB internally, further expandable via microSD. It comes with fitted with a 6.7 MP Carl-Zeiss lens camera at the back and a 2 MP front camera primarily for video/Skype calling. Nokia has loaded the tablet with a 8000 mAh battery that should provide considerable product life for day-to-day and on-the-go usage.

Lumia 2520 comes bundled with options like Nokia Music and Mix Radio, Microsoft Office and Outlook among others.

It remains to be seen whether 2520 is part of Nokia's last hurrah or will we actually see more products in the coming future. The Windows 8.1 has gained its fair share of lovers and haters and Lumia 2520 is the company's effort to try its hand in the highly viable tablet market currently owned by Android and iOS.
