New Update

Last time around seven brands received enough votes to make it to the elite
User's Choice club, but this time around that number has come down to five.
HP-Compaq continue to remain at the pole position, while Dell is the runner up,
followed by IBM/Lenovo at number two and three spots. We have a surprise at the
fourth position, wherein HCL jumped from last year's seventh position. Finally,
Toshiba had dropped one position from last time to Fifth.

HP-Compaq is ahead of all others in top of the mind recall, current ownership
and relative brand loyalty. IBM/Lenovo is just ahead of Dell in current
ownership but turned out to be a little behind in recall and relative loyalty
than Dell.

Industry wise, HP-Compaq has the highest brand perception score in every
industry except BFSI where Dell takes the lead. Moreover Dell is also giving a
tough fight to HP-Compaq in IT/ITeS and discrete manufacturing, but falls a
little weak in communication media as well as process manufacturing segments.
IBM/Lenovo has strong brand perception in BFSI, IT/ITeS and healthcare. HCL
turned out to have better brand perception in discrete and process manufacturing
segments than IBM/Lenovo but falls behind in the remaining industries.

Zone wise, HP-Compaq is ahead of other brands in north, south and east while
Dell is ahead in west with HP-Compaq close on its heels. IBM/Lenovo got the
strongest support from west followed by south, east and north.

Coming to brand loyalty, Dell enjoys the highest loyalty with 68%. Brand
loyalty for HP-Compaq and IBM/Lenovo are pretty much same at 59% and 58%
respectively. Talking about shift-in's i.e. the brands likely to gain from
shift-outs from other brands, HP-Compaq looks to be the biggest beneficiary with
8.6% and closely followed by Dell at 8.2%. In case of HCL, it's 5.6% and for
IBM/Lenovo it's 3.6%.

Why are users likely to switch to these brands in the future? The answers
varied for different brands. For instance, Dell and IBM/Lenovo are considered
slightly more reliable than HP-Compaq. Likewise, Dell is considered better in
pricing over HP-Compaq. Likewise, HP-Compaq is being chosen because our
