Obi Worldphone, the global smartphone company that has been making waves since its global launch in San Francisco, USA on August 26th this year, continues its global journey with the introduction of two-high quality, premium-designed smartphones in Vietnam and Dubai. Priced at an exceptional value and meant for discerning young population in the fastest growing markets around the world, Obi Worldphone now plans to launch in India this month.

Obi Worldphone SF1 and SJ1.5 – the current devices in the Obi portfolio, are set apart by iconic industrial design complimented with the Obi Lifespeed, a custom user interface for Android that unifies the software and hardware experience. Obi has endeavored to integrate elegant design with high-end technology from Qualcomm, Dolby, Sony, Corning Incorporated, Google, MediaTek, Japan Display, Inc. and Samsung to deliver a powerful performance.

Obi has also partnered with world-acclaimed San Francisco-based design studio Ammunition, founded by the former director of industrial design for Apple Computer, Robert Brunner. Obi Worldphone is the first to address the market need between high-design smartphones at high prices and generic smartphones at low prices.  

Obi Worldphone was co-founded by John Sculley along with Obi CEO Neeraj Chauhan and other partners last year. John is the former head of Apple & Pepsi-Cola and a successful investor in consumer technology companies. Neeraj who has run IT and telecom distribution companies, started working with John Sculley in 2007 during the Sloan Fellowship program at London Business School.
