Olympus Launches OM-D E-M10 Mirrorless Camera at INR 53,990

Soon after the launch of two premium series of flagship cameras last year, Olympus Imaging India Private Limited today announced the launch of the Olympus OM-D E-M10. The lau nch of t his entry-level mirrorless camera completes the OM-D family. Both OM-D E-M1 and the OM-D E-M5 have become the identity of Olympus Imaging across the globe, the company aims to tap those who are curious about mirrorless technology but look at affordable options.

The OM-D E-M10 is the entry-level mirrorless camera from the OM-D series, with the cutting-edge technology into a compact and lightweight body. The E-M10 inherits the 16 megapixel Live MOS sensor and TruPic VII image processor from the high-range E-M5 for the excellent image quality, high-resolution, and high-sensitivity. This model features an ultra-slim design with an excellent operability, and a quick response, high-resolution electronic viewfinder for authentic shooting style. This is a "SUPER PREMIUM SMALL" high-performance, mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, with unparalleled design for capturing any moment perfectly that surpasses high-en d models .

Speaking at the launch Kenichiro Mori, Managing Director, Olympus Imaging India Private Limited, said, "The OM-D series has become a strong identity for us in the India as well as globally. While the E-M1 and the E-M5 come from the professional segment, we look to complete the OM-D family with the EM-10 which is targeted towards those who are relatively new to premium mirrorless cameras and want to begin with technologically at the same level of the other two premium cameras." He added, "India has witnessed a rise in acceptance of mirrorless technology. With the OM-D EM-10, we look to offer a complete package with latest in technology even at the entry-level. The Stylus SP-100 is the Olympus' first 50x super zoom lens compact camera and the Stylus TG-850 is the first ever Tough series camera to be equipped with a tilting LCD.

With the launch of the three cameras, Olympus marks the company's focus on offering the best in technology. The OM-D E-M10 is priced at INR 53,990/- (body only), Stylus SP-100 at INR 26,990/- and Stylus TG-580 at INR 19,990/-. Olympus also launched 2 new lenses, the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ, the most compact electronic pancake zoom lens in the M.ZUIKO series and the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm F1.8 compact and lightweight, high-image quality standard lens in M.ZUIKO PREMIUM series. With the launch of these cameras, Olympus has reiterated their strong faith in the Indian market and the choice of the Indian consumer.
