OnePlus is known for using various textured panels on its flagship smartphones, and this year's OnePlus 12 with a wood texture finish may have already leaked online, providing us with an early peek. The leaked render shows a design that resembles the OnePlus One Walnut Wood variant. The OnePlus 12 will be released on 4 December as part of the company's 10th anniversary celebrations in China. It is already available for pre-order across the country. Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC will power the forthcoming smartphone.

OnePlus 12: Leaked Photograph

On Weibo, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station shared an alleged photograph of the OnePlus 12 featuring a wood finish rear panel. His article adds, "The OnePlus 12 has a classic wood grain shell" (translated from Chinese), implying that a new version with a wood texture back will be available. At present, the materials used for this limited edition are unknown. It might also be a case with a wood texture. The leaked image reveals a design comparable to the OnePlus One's Walnut Wood Edition.

However, OnePlus has yet to confirm any of the facts made public, and there is always the possibility that the source is incorrect. As a result, it is advised to take these details with a grain of salt.

OnePlus has begun accepting pre-orders for the phone

The OnePlus 12 will be released in China on 4 December at 7:00pm local time (4:30am IST) for the company's anniversary celebrations. OnePlus has begun accepting pre-orders for the phone through its online shop and major Chinese e-commerce platforms. The global release could take place in January of next year.

OnePlus 12: Specifications

The OnePlus 12 has already been touted to run ColorOS 14, which is based on Android 14, and to be the first handset in China with a 2K resolution display to receive DisplayMate's A+ certification. Its ProXDR display has a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC will power it, and it has a Sony LYTIA LYT808 for its primary back camera. The device will also come with a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

The OnePlus 12 is expected to have a curved low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display measuring 6.82-inch QHD+ (1,440 x 3,168 pixels). It may have a triple back camera set, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 32-megapixel selfie sensor. OnePlus 12 is supposed to be powered by a 5,400mAh battery and to allow 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
