OnePlus has provided a lifetime guarantee for those who have experienced the "green-screen" problem. The guarantee covers all models, according to the firm, however older OnePlus devices, such as the OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9, and OnePlus 9R, will not be covered since there are no "spare parts" to address the issue.

OnePlus, on the other hand, is providing up to an Rs 30,000 discount coupon for upgrading from an old cellphone to a new OnePlus device, notably the OnePlus 10R. This implies that buyers may get a new OnePlus 10R for as little as Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.

As reported by Android Authority, the lifetime warranty extends only to users in India. Quoting a spokesperson, the report said: “We understand that this issue has caused a lot of inconvenience to affected users and we apologize for that. In line with our no-nonsense commitment, we advise users to visit their nearest OnePlus service center for device diagnosis and offer a free screen replacement for all affected devices.

For select OnePlus 8 and 9 series devices, we are also offering a coupon that gives the user a reasonable percentage of the value of the device to upgrade to a new OnePlus device. As per the current situation, we are now offering a lifetime display warranty for all affected devices. Thank you for your understanding and support."

A Telegram user also spotted the message outside the OnePlus service center. The announcement includes clearer details about the "discount coupon" that OnePlus is offering to OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9R users in India who are affected by the display issue.

The note says that OnePlus 8 Pro users will get a gift card worth Rs 25,500 while the OnePlus 8T will get a voucher of Rs 20,000. OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9T will get a voucher worth Rs 23,500 and OnePlus 9T will get Rs 19,000. Also, if users with older OnePlus phones upgrade to the OnePlus 10R, OnePlus is offering an additional offer of Rs 4,500. OnePlus 10R price in India starts at Rs 34,999 and goes up to Rs 39,999.
