It seems it’s diffi cult to dethrone VMware given the lead it has over others. Oracle registers an entry in the users’ choice league across survey segments.
VMware continues its legacy of being the leader for years now by a wide margin. MS HyperV also manages to retain its first runner up position across survey segments, which is followed by Citrix Xen. Oracle makes an entry in the users' choice club at the fourth position in 100- 499 survey segment. Though the positioning of the two top brands remain same as last year, MS HyperV trails VMware by a wide margin in both survey segments.
In terms of brand loyalty, VMware users are satisfied enough not to shift to any other brands. This is true for users in both segments. Users of MS HyperV seem to be content and not likely to move out to other brand. In case of Citrix Xen, its user base seem to be loyal barring a small fraction, in 100-499 segment and 8% in 500-1000. Oracle which makes it to the users' choice league have their users loyal.
For the VMware users, brand name and quality of product are equally important as far as reasons of satisfaction is concerned, followed by value for money. The same would be the reason for them to continue using the existing brand in future. For MS HyperV users, the same parameters are of equal importance. Quality is what matters most for Citrix Xen users followed by brand name. For Oracle users, quality of product is the major reason for satisfaction and this would be reason for planning to use in future. For Citrix Xen, value for money would also be a reason to continue using it in future.
