Features to Look For Before Buying an LCD Monitor

Convergent Communicacations has introduced its Easel range of LCD monitors. The monitors are available in two sizes—12.1" (X-TAL6200) and 15.1" (X-TAL 6220). These flat-screen color monitors employ the TFT (Thin Film Transistor) technology.

The model X-TAL6220 (15.1") lets you rotate and alternate the screen from portrait to landscape views. With the help of the accompanying Pivot software, the image on the screen can also be rotated. It comes with built-in stereo-speakers (output 1W x 2). All you need to do is attach a cable from the monitor to a sound card and enjoy the music. The monitor also has speaker in and out ports for external speakers.

The 12.1" supports a maximum resolution of 800x600 pixels at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, while the 15.1" supports a maximum resolution of 1,024x 768 pixels at a refresh rate of 75 Hz. Both monitors give flicker-free displays, thereby reducing eyestrain. Setting up the monitors is a breeze.

As they use LCD technology, both monitors consume less energy compared to standard CRT displays. They’re also very compact and lightweight, weighing about 3 kg and 6.7 kg respectively.
