The Problem: Decision making from “gut feel” to be transformed to “data driven” was what the organization had in mind while implementing this project. Previously, in the organization the MIS requirements were handled through some static pre-defined monthly reports and adhoc data analysis was carried out using spread sheets. It was then proposed to procure and implement a good BI tool that would address to these issues and provide a single version of truth to decision makers.
The Solution: After evaluating various tools, the company narrowed down to QlikView and implemented the same in the organization. Amongst the challenges faced, the timeliness of data was a major issue, as the users wanted a close to real time data, but as that data was a result of output of very large tables, it was complex to achieve.
The Result: With this implementation, all decision makers in the field can view data in the same format, which allows them to look at their progress on business done on a daily basis. Tracking of various KPIs was made possible with a single click of button. Business heads are now able to take quick decisions based on factual data analysis.
