Yahoo! announced their decision to go in for a new look logo, almost a month ago. In the last 30 days, the portal played with fonts with 30 different logos.
The countdown logo play was done by Yahoo! on their US homepage, and other social media pages for the last month and on Wednesday, September 4, the new logo was unveiled.
The new logo is part of CEO Marissa Mayer's attempt to breathe in new life through visual appeal into Yahoo!
'We wanted a logo that stayed true to our roots (whimsical, purple, with an exclamation point) yet embraced the evolution of our products', says Yahoo.
