Epson Stylus Photo 700Price:

Rs 14,395

Best result: Still life on Epson photo
paper

Colors: 5 (CcMYK)

Max res: 720/1,440 dpi

Mode used: SuperFine with MicroWeave

Epson

Photo’s output on photo paper was the best in the shootout. It performed

well on inkjet and plain paper too. However, its output of photos (skin

tone) needs some improvement. The red color in the photo appeared

artificial. Epson recommends using its own photo paper for prints. To

check this out, we took printouts of a test image on both Epson and Kodak

photo papers. The output on Epson photo paper was much closer to the

original.

Canon’s output on inkjet paper was the best in the shootout. Even on

photo paper, it was among the top three. However, it gave average prints

on plain paper. This was also the only printer to come with removable and

reusable printheads, which help reduce the cost of consumables. This top

scorer in print quality would be a better buy with a lower price.

We got life-like photo output with skin tones on the DeskJet 880C.

Color reproduction is very good, on both photo and plain paper. Results on

HP photo paper were much better than on Kodak paper. The best part about

the printer is that it doesn’t use any extra color to produce photo

quality, and still manages to do a great job.
