Design

iPhone 5 is  7.6 millimeters thin --it's the same width  but is nearly 9 millimeters taller than iPhone 4S.  That's 18 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than iPhone 4S.  To achieve the design, the company had gone for a nano-SIM card, which is 44 per cent smaller than the micro-SIM card.  It has got an all glass front with an aluminium back casing

A6 Chip

With the new A6 chip, you will get faster CPU performance- up to twice as fast compared with the A5 chip. So apps launch, web pages load, and email attachments appear almost instantly. The A6 chip also offers graphics performance that's up to twice as fast as the A5, cliams Apple.

Battery

iPhone 5 has more battery power - up to 8 hours of browsing on a cellular connection, up to 8 hours of talk time, and up to 10 hours of video playback time, according to Apple.

Camera

The iSight Camera features improvements including 40 percent faster photo capture, better low-light performance, and improved noise reduction. You can record stunning 1080p HD video with the camera.

Connector

iPhone 5 introduced Lightning connector. It features an eight-signal design that's more durable than the 30-pin connector and works using either side and is 80 percent smaller than its predecessors. Which means there's no wrong way to plug in the cable. For older iOS device users, Apple has also worked upon an adapter to accommodate the 30-pin connectors. 

Other changes

New features in iOS 6 let you do more with iCloud. You can share photos with the people you choose using Shared Photo Streams. Other features include locate, lock, and recover your misplaced phone easier with Find My iPhone.

The iPhone 4 pre-booking begins on tomorrow and will go on sale on September 21 in USA. This will be followed by a few more countries on September 28 and 100 other countries by the end of 2012. It will be available in India during Diwali time.
