Pros: Build quality, smart key

Cons: Screen, camera, average performance

Bottomline: If you are feature phone user and want to upgrade then it is one of the options, but better options at the similar price points are available. You can consider iVoomi Me1 plus over it, having better features and performance.

itel mobile is continuously bringing budget devices in the Indian market and its new addition is itel Wish A41. It is a 4G VoLTE-enabled smartphone comes in three beautiful colors – Champagne, Calx, and Rose Gold.

Build quality

The phone is built with a solid plastic with texture finish at the back. I received the rose gold color for review, it looks and feels good while holding in hands. It holds a 5-inch screen with large bezels on the top and bottom.

The volume rocker and power buttons are placed on the right side. MicroUSB is on the bottom panel and on the top, you can access 3.5mm jack. The phone has one additional button, placed at the back, which may make you be confused being a fingerprint sensor, but it’s not. It is additional ‘Smart Key’ that lets you click images, hang calls, activate torch and more.

Screen and Camera

Wish 41 boasts a 5-inch screen with a 480X854p resolution which is no longer in fashion. The screen produces good colors with decent amount of contrast, but has limited viewing angles, thus you can enjoy the movie or game from a particular angle.

Itel Wish A41 hosts a 5 MP camera at the back and 2 MP camera at the front. The phone has LED flash at both ends front and back, enabling users to click images in low-light conditions as well. Using the rear camera you can capture acceptable quality images in daylight. It clicks images with good color and contrast, but grains can be seen. Considering the price, I can say it’s good to capture to share on social channels but not more than that. The LED and HDR mode helps you to capture decent quality images, but slow shutter speed struggles.

The front camera is fine for selfies and video calls, do not expect more. Again LED flash to enhance the quality of low-light selfies.

Performance

The smartphone has the mediocre hardware, making it capable of handling light apps and games. But if you are trying to stuff the phone storage with loads of apps, it may lead to hang. While using the device for a few weeks, I added several apps in it. While playing subway surfer kind of games, there was no performance issue, but it can’t handle multitasking or high graphics intensive games.

Battery

The phone is backed by a 2400 mAh battery that can last for 8 to 12 hours depending on your usage, with me it lasted for 8+ hours while playing games, watching videos, net surfing etc. In our video loop test, it lasted for 4 hours and 54 minutes, while watching the movie over wifi with full brightness and volume.
