Karbonn also joins the race of producing affordable yet excellent smartphones in the Indian market. The Sparkle V is an Android One smartphone which has the same hardware configuration as Micromax Canvas A1. It looks pretty cool and easily fits in hands, thanks to the 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 854x480p which offers vibrant colours and respectable brightness. All plastic body smartphone gets rubberized matte finish at the back. One can enjoy video chats using the front 2 MP camera. The back 5MP auto-focus camera with an LED flash produces quality images in daylight and using the flash you can click snaps even in dark, but with lots of noise. However, you can’t save images without adding memory stick in it.

Karbonn Sparkle V comes with stock android KitKat 4.4 that offers almost similar functions such as voice command . In addition Google promises updates for two years, which means that the update to Android L will also be available later this year. The Sparkle V shares the same hardware quad-core MediaTek MT 6582 chipset, 1GB RAM and microSD slot with up to 32 GB support. It didn’t lag during our test, even while playing heavy games and using several apps simultaneously.

The rear speaker is average yet loud up to an extent. The 1700 mAh battery can last for 8-9 hours in one full charge and during the battery test, it lasted for about 5 hours and 05 minutes while playing video on full brightness and sound over the Wi-Fi. In our benchmark testing, it performed quite good and scored 17833 on Antutu, 4443 on Quadrant, 1718 on Vellamo HTML5 and 2860 on 3Dmark Ice Storm.
