LG K10 (2017) is an upgraded edition of old LG K 10 (2016) launched at a price of Rs 13,990 and featured the 112 SOS panic button, the national emergency number.
LG K10 (2017) Display and Design:
The LG K10 has very simple but elegant pebble shape design. The rear side of this phone is slightly different as compared to the old 2016 LG K10. The old one has Camera, flash, volume and power button at the rear side while the new phone comprised a camera, flash, and power button.
Also, the fingerprint sensor is placed under the power button and if it pressed three-time it triggers the 112 SOS emergency call. The back panel of the is built of plastic but the durability of its is very good and it gives a metal finish.
The back cover and battery are removable that's why the two nano SIM card slots and microSD card slot placed under the back cover. The phone is very light and easily fits in small hands which increase the phone usability.
Coming to the front side, it is very clean the lower portion of the display has only LG logo which personally I don't like in LG's phone because the navigation buttons are placed on the screen. And due to that, the lower space of display is a complete waste. The above portion of the display is standard.
The LG K10 sports the display size of 5.3 inches. It is HD IPS display with 227ppi which is quite legible even under the direct sunlight but struggles a little bit due to reflective nature of the display. The color reproduction is good and vivid. The low resolution affects the display quality. In the display setting, it has an option through which you can change the color saturation in getting a Comfort view. It allows users to switch to warmer color time to reduce stress on eyes.
LG K10 (2017) Camera
The LG K10 (2017) comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. In terms of picture quality, the 13 MP can easily handle the day-to-day phone photography with good detail especially in close up shots with balanced color accuracy. In the case of night light, the phone's camera is not much effective and shows grains. The camera app is very user-friendly and easy to use and doesn’t feel cluttered but the autofocus of the phone is a little bit slow. The front selfie camera is basic and enough for individual selfies.
LG K10 (2017) software and performance
If your talk about the software the LG K10 runs on Android 7.0 which makes it one of handful phones those runs on Nougat at this price point. Like all LG phone, this phone is also running on LG custom UI with lots of customization but without any cluttered and complications. One customization we liked is its ability to switch between an app drawer and no app drawer home, add or remove the number of shortcut keys on the navigation panel and quick settings panel.
Coming to the performance part, the phone runs on MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor coupled with only 2 GB RAM. For storage, it offers 16 GB internal that can expand up to 2 TB using microSD. The phone didn't lag while our usage, but it also not snappy like Honor 6X and become sluggish while using multiple apps simultaneously. However, we were able to play Asphalt, Fifa 16 soccer like heavy graphic intensive games on it without any problem. Also, there was no heating issue while playing games, watching video and in-camera.
LG K10 (2017) Battery life
The phone is powered by a removable 2,800mAh battery and gives a battery life of almost a day on moderate usage. In our video loop test we played YouTube video at 720P and we got 4 hours and 48 minutes.
