People who are using different devices, look for a flash drive that can work with all of them, especially when you have an Apple device--iPhone, iPad, or iPad touch. PhotoFast iFlash drive Evo is made to tackle the same. It has two connection ports – USB 3.0 and Lightning. Though it is specially designed for Apple devices, yet using USB 3.0 you can connect it with any laptop or PC having USB connectivity. The other Lightning connector lets you connect iPhone and iPad etc.

The drive comes with inbuilt Evo App which is easy to use with the new user interface. This app lets you backup all your essentials, contacts/ calendars/ photos as well as secure the access with App lock and Accessory lock. The app is designed well and lets you navigate contents of the drive easily. The Evo app has several functionalities including support for ID3 tag for your favorite songs, lets songs be sorted by artists, supports playlist creation ‘Playing Now’ for music playing in background, photo thumbnail for quick preview, and allow files to be sorted by photo category, video category, etc.

The i-Flash drive is available in 8/16/32/64/128 GB options, and the flash drive review unit we received was 8 GB. Earlier we reviewed SanDisk’s iXpand 16 GB, which also made for Apple devices. PhotoFast offers almost similar features, but has better functionalities and transfer speed, but for that you need to pay higher.

In our assorted file transfer test, it took 3 minute and 49 seconds to transfer 3.3 GB file from PC to drive and 3 minutes and 54 seconds from drive to PC. While using the benchmark, it resulted in 83.83 MB/s read and 13.43 MB/s write speed on Crystal Disk mark. Using HD Tune Pro, it delivered 83.5 MB/s of max and 0.3 MB/s of min read speed. The transfer speed was better than the Sandisk iXpand.
