Price: ₹ 2,499

Key Specs

1.5-inch TFT HD LCD (240x240p) screen, Bluetooth v3.0, MTK6261D CPU, 1.3MP camera, supports 32GB TF memory card, SIM slot support 2G network

Pros: Can work independently like a phone, provides remote photos & video recording and sleep monitoring

Cons: Doesn't support iPhone, poor camera, poor call and camera quality

Bottomline: PTron Tronite Smartwatch can be paired with any smartphone using Bluetooth or you can add an SIM card to operate it like a phone, attend and make calls. At only Rs 2499 you get a smartwatch that has all the functions of a phone. This runs smoothly and offers almost every feature you could expect from a smartwatch, however, we still feel that a watch should display time and the screen never go into sleep or off mode. Overall it's a good choice for those who are looking for a smartwatch and don't want to spend more.

PTron Tronite Bluetooth Smartwatch works with Bluetooth that enables you to pair the watch with your smartphone. And this can work like a phone by adding an SIM card into it. When you synchronize this with your smartphone, this can notify you about the incoming calls and allows you to accept or reject them without touching the phone. The smartwatch has Pedometer to monitor your daily movements and Two Way anti lost feature that ring the clock to alert you if the phone is far from over 5metres or vise versa. It also has remote photos and video recording and sleep monitoring.

It has a capacitive touch panel with 1.56-inch TFT display and equipped with a 1.3 MP camera which is no longer in use now-a-days. Still using the camera you click images, however, the quality is poor. This also supports MicroSD card meaning you can extend the memory.

This can be paired with both iOS and Android Smartphones. Android OS supports all the functions of the smartwatch, however, iOS allows a limited access. There is no app for iPhone so four functions can’t sync with iPhone – Anti-lost, Messaging, Notifier and Remote Camera.

This watch works well in both manner whether you pair it with your smartphone or use separately as a phone. Though this can work like an individual phone, but the call quality is poor, so we recommend to use headphone to reply or make calls for better experience.

Using the smartwatch for more than two weeks, we didn’t find any visible performance lag while exploring the device or using its functions. However, we missed the watch most of the time as the screen went into sleep mode after a few seconds, and to wake that up either touch the screen/power button or use the gesture. This comes with 380 mAh battery that lets you operate the smartwatch for more than a day which is good for smartwatch available at this price.

So when testing for what is the best smartwatch, the important factors to consider are how much of your smartphone’s functionalities can it perform, and how well does it handle each task, the final attribute is obviously style – it’s still bling after all.

You’ll also want to make sure it’s compatible with your smartphone – some are only for iPhone or Android while others support most phones. Note that Android Wear now has iOS support but the experience is cut down in comparison. Some smartwatches use different software. Before buying please remind the points.if everything is ok go ahead with PTron Tronite Smartwatch .

Yes, its value for money. I already bought this tronite smart watch about 5 months ago and still using it. No performance issues as such but I wish battery capacity should have been more. All in all good watch

This is a good innovation for a smartwatch to be independent of smartphones but the quality needs to be improved upon to make it better.
