Bottomline : Transcend SSD 370 128GB drive is suitable to enhance the PC performance. Though the read and write speed of the drive is not exceptional than other 128 Gb drives we received for review, yet it costs less than Plextor M6S 128 GB SSD.

Transcend SSD370 drive is an energy-efficient drive that is build on 2.5-inch form factor and comes with 3.5 bracket. This enables you to use the drive with laptop ultrabook or desktop PC. It is suitable for people looking for a fast and reliable drive to upscale their PC performance. The drive is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux OS.

The compact and lightweight SSD370 drive is shock and vibration resistance and supports DevSleep mode. Meaning it enables you to enjoy a lag-free computing experience even when using your notebook on an extended journey. Thanks to the full support of SATA Device Sleep Mode (DevSleep) that extends notebook battery life when not in use.

Transcend also provides an advanced SSD Scope software application which enable you to keep your SSD running fast, clean, and error-free.  It allows you to monitor health status of drive with S.M.A.R.T. technology, enable the TRIM command in the operating system to help maintain optimum write speeds, and conveniently update SSD firmware, all from a single user-friendly tool.

The company claims its read and write speeds of up to 560 and 460 MB/s respectively. The drive performed well in our lab testing, it boosted the performance of PC as well. The total boot time was reduced by 10 seconds. In our benchmarks testing, on Crystal Disk Mark it achieved 500.7 MB/s read and 299.4 MB/s write speed, and with HD Tune Pro, it delivered maximum and minimum read speeds of 453.9 MB/s and 304.6 MB/s respectively. The write speed of the drive was not satisfactory in our testing however we were happy with the read speed of the drive.
