Samsung brings high end Galaxy Tab S series to India

Samsung Electronics on Tuesday expanded its tablet range with the launch of Galaxy Tab S in Indian market. The latest Galaxy S tab series includes two variants with different screen sizes. The higher variant boasts a 10.1 inch super AMOLED display and is priced at (MOP) Rs.44,800 whereas the other one comes with a 8.84 inch super AMOLED screen and costs (MOP) Rs. 37,800.

Both the tablets runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat and gives a resolution of 2560*1660(WQXGA) to watch multimedia content. The tablets packs some serious stuff under the hood to handle multitasking. They are powered by Exynos 5 Octa core processors (1.9 GHz QuadCore + 1.3 GHz QuadCore) with 3 GB of RAM. Samsung said that both the quad-core processors work simultaneously to give a smooth and powerful multimedia experience to the users.

The 10.1 inch tablet is powered by a 7,900 mAh battery whereas a 4,900 mAh battery is packed with the 8.4 inch version. The 3G enabled tablets support Wifi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0 as connectivity and also support FDD LTE. The devices has 8 MP rear camera, 2.1 MP front camera and 16 GB inbuilt space that can be expanded to 128 GB.

Commenting at the launch, Mr. Asim Warsi, VP, Mobile & IT, Samsung India said that the new tablet series is for consumers who wants a powerful multimedia device and prefers to watch HD movies, play games and listen music on the go. Samsung shares 50 percent of tablet market space with its six tablets priced in the range of Rs.12k to 60k.

The tablets will be available from second week of July across the country.
