The constant fall in prices over the last couple of years has made the LCD
monitor a favored option over CRTs. The D190S has a glossy finish front bezel
with feather touch buttons on the right hand corner. To enhance the looks, these
touch sensitive keys get illuminated only when touched. The ergonomic design
allows the monitor to be adjusted to an optimal angle for reduced eye strain and
also provides for quick setup. We tested the monitor using Displaymate benchmark
and found that it suffers from minor streaking issues. A bigger problem is
reflection of surroundings, which is quite irksome during movies and games.
However, watching high-definition clips is fun thanks to the 5ms response time
and the HD resolution. The monitor comes with Displaylink USB technology, which
uses resources available in the CPU and GPU to process the graphical information
from a USB connected display. Simply put, it allows multiple monitors to be
connected through USB 2.0 jack as well as standard D-sub and DVI connectors.
Just install the Displaylink software and connect a compatible Displaylink
device such as the D190S for output through USB. Due to its lightweight and slim
profile, the monitor is suitable for notebook users as well as it fits very well
in a backpack alongside the notebook, making it easy to carry along. At the
current price, the monitor is great for users who want a multi-monitor setup.

Bottomline: The Displaylink technology is a great feature but the
reflective screen is a letdown.
