Samsung is also planning to launch a new variant of Galaxy A70 – the Galaxy A70S that could possibly be the world’s first smartphone to come with a 64MP rear camera. Samsung recently announced two new 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensors – the 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 and the 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM2. The company is looking to bring the Galaxy A70S with the 64MP one.

‘The GW1 uses the pixel-merging Tetracell technology and remosaic algorithm to produce bright 16MP images in low-light environments and highly-detailed 64MP shots in brighter settings. To further top things off, the GW1 sensor supports real-time high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100-decibels (dB) that provides richer hues. For what its’ worth, the dynamic range of a conventional image sensor is at around 60dB, while that of the human eye is typically considered to be around 120dB,’ Samsung said in a statement.

The Galaxy A70S is expected to launch in second half of 2019.
