Seagate Ultrathin HDD 500 GB: Thin, Light & Affordable

Seagate ultrathin 500 GB HDD is one of the four storage products launched by the company in the country recently. This drive also comes in the 2.5 inch form factor, supportas SATA 6 Gb/s interface but weighs 93 grams. The HDD offers 5400 rpm speed, 16 MB cache memory and consumes 1.4 watts power. This hard disk drive is meant for laptop users with the need to free up space within an affordable budget. One can also make sure that the data stored in the drive can be protected which is a big plus point.

We tested the drive with our set of benchmark tools and the results achieved were quite satisfactory. The drive gave us speed of 110 MB/sec on HD Tune Pro, Crystal Disk Mark recorded speed of 113 MB/sec at both sequential read and write process. To analyze the real time data transfer capability we transferred 20.5 GB assorted data and the resulting process was conducted at 49 MB/sec.
