In today’s competitive and data-driven business market, storing, sharing and securing data is critical for maintaining an efficient and profitable operation. Top technology trends like Big data, IoT and mobility are only getting more popular, making it imperative for organizations to plan for a robust data storage infrastructure to attain business efficiencies. The transition from traditional storage to software-as-a-service solution are encouraging SMBs to adopt different storage solutions across platforms that address important business advantages like accessibility, flexibility, collaboration and security.

“SMBs today have a wide variety of storage options to choose from. Be it public, private or hybrid cloud solution. The choice of storage solution entirely depends on need. Cloud storage is becoming increasingly important due to lack of space onsite.”

Data is growing by leaps and bounds, and not only large enterprises, but also SMEs have begun to recognize the need and want to leverage actionable information from Big Data and Internet of Things-enabled devices.

“Smarter SMEs are adopting a mixed approach for their storage needs. While leveraging on the benefits of what the cloud has to offer, they also integrate a NAS (network-attached storage) solution into their cloud environment. The key advantage of this approach is that it allows SMEs to establish their own cloud storage while having a full control of their data. Additionally, it offers a method of data access that remains consistent whether you’re on the company network or somewhere outside the confines of the office,” said Khurana.

SMBs are finding themselves under more pressure than ever as the volume of data continues to increase dramatically. IDC Digital Universe Study’s forecast reveals that the world’s annual data creation will increase by ten-fold between 2013 and 2020 to 4.4 zetabytes. This increasing volume will in turn, need systematic and user friendly storage solutions.

SMBs today have a wide variety of storage options to choose from. Be it public, private or hybrid cloud solution. The choice of storage solution entirely depends on need. Cloud storage is becoming increasingly important due to lack of space onsite.

Organizations are gradually moving to cloud to meet both proximity factors and overcome physical space issues. The effectiveness of cloud is, therefore, fairly obvious where, data can be easily accessed without hindrances of physical space. Cloud computing today has inevitably brought a revolution into SME operations by enabling easy access to the data from any place where there is an Internet connection. SMEs now don’t have to take up the full costs of setting up their own IT infrastructure to host their data. With Storage-As-A-Service, SMEs can now tap into the benefits and scale up the operational requirements without bearing a hefty financial burden. Large and small businesses are using cloud solutions for improving productivity e.g. document sharing, customer relationship management or CRM, expense reporting, payroll, email, file sharing, backup and archiving.

It is of extreme importance to store business data in a safe and secure space. The NAS cloud storage devices bring along many benefits that are a boon for enterprise operations. The NAS drives are engineered for high performance even when several applications are open at the same time. They can also support multiple HD video streams and user profiles.
