Launched earlier this year in the US, the latest PlayStation version comes with a host of advanced features, smartphone/tablet and multiple display compatibility along with integration of co-branded devices like PlayStation Vita as well.

The PS4 launch availability comes along with supporting 20 game titles like Knack TM and Killzone: Shadow Fall. Sony has informed that the the PS4 will have a library of over 30 games by the end of the year. As of now games like Assassin's Creed ® IV: Black Flag TM from Ubisoft Entertainment, NBA ® 2K14 from 2K, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Need for Speed Rivals and NBA LIVE 14 from Electronic Arts, Warframe from Digital Extremes, and Super Motherload from XGen Studios are already available to kick start their gaming extravaganza.

In terms of hardware, the PS4 is built with 8 GB GDDR5 unified system memory that supports high-end gaming detail and execution and capable of storing up data worth 500 GB. With a press of the "SHARE" button on the DUALSHOCK wireless controllers, images and videos can be shared with other players in the activity feed on their PS4 system. One can buy an extra controller for Rs 4,990.

At Rs 39,990 the price of PS4 is clearly on the steeper side as the same console was launched for $399 (approx Rs 24,500) in US. It will be interesting to see whether Sony can match its global sales performance in India but the company has taken first-mover advantage over Microsoft's Xbox One.
