STORAGE SOLUTION: Enterprise HDD

Seagate has announced its largest range of enterprise-class disc-drive products. This range includes NL35 series, a one-half Terabyte capacity drive for near-line storage; Cheetah 15K.4 drive for the fastest I/O performance and reliability for the mainstream enterprise drive; and Cheetah10K.7 drive for entry-server and workstation use.

The foundation of NL35 series is high capacity, low cost per gigabyte, disc drives with Fiber channel or Serial ATA interfaces. This series delivers near-line storage on existing Fiber Channel SANS. The Cheetah15K.4 will offer a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface. Cheetah15K.4 is offered in capacities of 36, 73 and 147

GBs.

And the Cheetah10K.7 is the highest capacity 10k-rpm enterprise disc drive offered by the company. It provides up to 300 GB in a low-profile form factor, and is offered in capacities of 73,146 and 300GBs. These products will begin shipping in calendar Q4 and Q3, respectively.
