Talisma is a made-in-India CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software that works on Win 2000 Server (SP3) with SQL server 2000 (SP3). It is fully customizable and you can use it for marketing campaigns, product support and offers.
Version 5.1 comes with Primus Knowledge Management software integration, but for that you need to be a Primus user.
The software uses the client-server model and is highly modularized. There are modules like Web components and Web-client to fully Web-enable the software. The Advanced Analytics Server provides very comprehensive reporting and analysis functionality and an archive module for archiving old data. There’s also an SDK, tools and sample reports and code.
The Server requires 512 MB memory with about 800 MB free disk space to install and run. The software’s CD comes with all the pre-requisite service packs. We did have to download and install MSXML 2.6, though, but it’s a small file and you may not need it if you’ve got IE6.0.
You can also get the sample database and use the very comprehensive and well-presented bound manuals for getting started.
As an administrator, you will need to do the basic configuration of mapping the teams, creating aliases, roles and users. You can go into great detail to specify working days, hours, holidays and breaks, etc, for the teams. Other configurations are just as comprehensive. You can set up roles on a global level or within teams and then assign them to users that you setup here.
The basic configurations need to be done elaborately and in a way that accurately maps your organization’s departments, roles and users therein. The quality of this configuration will decide the benefit an organization can get from this software.
These configurations are performed from the Business Administration interface which is part of the Web Components module and are pretty straight-forward.

The software captures in great detail the structure, hierarchy and functions of your teams and a lot of relevant data about your existing and prospective customers, and then presents a platform for managing, analyzing and archiving the interaction between the two. These interactions can be through Email, the Internet (web-forms), Chat and also CTI (Computer Telephony Integration - which is available as a separate module). The software employs complex queuing and routing and employs tools like Canned Responses and Rapid Responses.
This data once captured is very precious for any organization and keeping that in mind, Talisma offers very comprehensive access control at various levels, which can be defined by the administrator.
