The Ecosystem of Computer Peripherals

Today, students, professionals, business leaders carry their world with them. Thanks to wireless technology, coupled with smartphones, and now in fact, phones which would stay in sync with the desktops/laptops. It is an era of a whole new ecosystem developed by computer peripherals.

We have come a long way from dot matrix printers to laser printers today, from a huge carton like hard disk to small portable terabyte hard disks, from the entanglement of wires to being wireless today. Today hard disks are not limited to manually storing data. They even let you backup and restore data automatically. On the other hand, you can remotely send print command to printers.

Going by the trends in the peripherals we can say that manufacturers are trying to bring together different functionalities in one component and the result is the different innovative products. For e.g. LG has come up with a scanner inside a small mouse. While Kingston has come up with HyperX Datatraveler (storage) which is despite being small in size gives a very good performance while moving the data. Routers are also not untouched. Routers like Cyberoam NetGenie NG11EO supports 3G data card and also has inbuilt anti-virus.

And with time, it is only supposed to grow as we move ahead with more and more inventions to ensure user-friendliness and hassle-free performance.
