New Update

To check the performance of all motherboards we carried out several tests-3D

Mark and POV-Ray for checking graphical performance, PC Mark for checking

overall performance of a machine, CineBench R10 for checking performance of

processor cores, and SiSoftware Sandra for checking memory latency. The most

important factor to keep in mind before buying is the type of socket supported

by a motherboard-Intel's LGA775 socket is for Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo, etc and

LGA 1366 socket is good for the latest Core i7 family. On the other hand if you

have an AMD processor, check for supported processor sockets. Other important

factors to check is the type of RAM supported, ie DDR, DDR2 or DDR3, number of

expansion slots, and the type of LAN card. Check for special features like dual

BIOS for BIOS recovery, number of USB slots, and over-clocking if you are a

gaming enthusiast. Presented below is a comparison of motherboards tested by us

over the past one year, based on price, benchmark results and specs. We've also

categorized them based on price.
