Q-I want a professional camera and have zeroed in on the Sony A7S II and Canon 5D Mark III. Which one is better?

- Ramesh K

A: Both are very different cameras. The Sony will be better in focusing in low light because of its electronic viewfinder (EVF). The EVF also shows the exposure as it’s going to be captured. You can’t get this feature with an optical viewfinder (OVF) which is in all DSLRs. Also, Sony A7R II has the added benefit of being able to use any lens ever made for 35mm format via lens adapters. You can use other brands like Nikon on a Canon via adapters as well, but you don’t have the options like you do with the Sony. But if you are going to shoot fast action, then definitely get the Canon 5D Mark III over the Sony.
