APS is a Web-based application thatprocesses loan applications from ICICI Bank customers. It uses the existing knowledge to determine whether to accept or reject the loan application. Nucleus Software Exports Limited (NSEL) and 3i Infotech consulted on the project. APS runs off Solaris 9 and Windows 2000 servers supported by Pramati 3.5.

SSI Registration, Govt of Tamil Nadu

An online service to help new entrepreneurs get provisional SSI registration certificate, without having to go to the respective District Industries Center. The facility is available in more than 260 browsing centers across the state. So far, 70,740 certificates have been issued. It even provides online verification of registrations through other agencies like banks,
TNPCB.

The IT infrastructure of the company consisted of multiple OSs, messaging systems, and a homegrown ERP running on SCO UNIX and Oracle 7.3 with PowerBuilder 5 as the front-end tool. The infrastructure was ageing and needed upgradation to cope with the changing business requirements. So, they opted for MS products based IT infrastructure.

Credit Appraisal Rating Tool (CART), SIDBI

CART analyzes credit-worthiness of an applicant. The system has a two-level security — a creator and a checker who can also be the same person. CART allows for three basic forms-the appraisal, documentation of verification and the disbursement note on approval. Fully developed by SIDBI, it uses Lotus Notes 5 with Oracle 9i. It was completed in five months.

Electronic Issuer Interface, National Stock Exchange of India

Using the Electronic Issuer Interface project, companies listed on the NSE can pass all corporate announcements to the Exchange in electronic form, which will subsequently be broadcast to the market and displayed on the NSE website. Digital certificates are used to identify, authenticate and verify the integrity of data posted by the companies.

This is India's first online lottery and gaming portal. It's allows users to play lottery in three easy steps. Moreover, the customer's account has to be debited/credited instantly. For this, a bet server is in place to issue tickets and a real time connection is set up with the ITZ cash server for payment authentication and crediting of customer account.

C-Query, ICICI Bank

Meant for corporate customers of ICICI, it provides a Customer Query (C-Query) card to representatives authorized to make non-financial transactions-balance enquiry, account statement and cheque status. The card when used with the C-Query card reader, gives read only access to most account information, but does not allow making any transactions. 

Global Cash Management (GCM), ICICI Bank

GCM allows ICICI's international customers sitting in India see a consolidated view of all their accounts and holdings with the bank on a single Web interface. The system also provides the customer with up to date currency-wise information as well as their net overseas value. 3i Infotech did the development for this project using .NET technologies. 

Jawahar Knowledge Center, Govt of Andhra Pradesh

JKC is a project for the crème-de-la-crème of the computer science, electronics and IT streams inAP colleges. The project aims to augment the top 4% of these students with quality training and world-class infrastructure. The project currently has 41 industrial partners and 32 Jawahar Knowledge Center setups all wired and ready to go.

Insight, Aztec Software and Technology Services Ltd

This project improves efficiency by giving Aztec Software's customers access to a dashboard that gives them the project status. Insight is a single system that can manage documents, defects, business process, collaboration, reporting, and finance among other things. Earlier the company had separate systems for doing each of this, which has now been integrated into one. 

Trade Factory, ICICI Bank

Trade Factory seeks to centralize all of ICICI Bank's trading activities. In particular, it pools together information about their imports, exports, remittances and bank guarantees. It uses deal-matching algorithms to ensure the bank is on top of all transactions. NewGen has supplied them their OmiDocs solution, and extensive use has been made of digital-document management.

This online-management S/w works through a Web browser and allows an ICICI Lombard customer to view and manage all their insurance policies from a single interface. It's common to individual users, business users, intermediaries and internal users. Developed at a cost of Rs 24 lakhs, its has an expected recurring expenditure of Rs 5 lakhs pa. 

STAR, Registration Department, Govt. of Tamil Nadu

Simplified and Transparent Administration of Registration has been taken up by the Registration Dept of TN to provide related information and quicker services for registration of property, issuance of encumbrance and marriage certificates, providing of certified copies of documents. It plans to cover 600 offices (presently 350 covered). Services are provided through a website.

The project (a call center) was launched as an agricultural pilot in 2003 to provide helpline facility to farmers. Thereafter, its scope was expanded to include all major depts of Govt of AP. Citizens can call a toll-free number for a range of grievances in areas of education, power supply, etc. The call center representatives take up calls and forward the grievances to the respective depts.
