HP Is the Clear Winner in Server Category

HP takes over from IBM as the leader in both 100-499 employees and 500+ employees segments. But IBM can be happy about several aspects.

Like last year, we have a clear winner in this category at the Users' Choice Awards 2013. Only that it is not IBM, but HP in both 100-499 employees and 500-999 employees segments.

The second and third place honours go to IBM and Dell this time around, while HCL secures the fourth position in the 500+ segment. Although losing the top spot, IBM has got an index score of 98% and 95% and Dell has secured 71% and 90%, in the smaller and larger segments, respectively.

In the 100-499 segment, IBM users rated its servers with a mean satisfaction score of 4.4 out of 5, whereas HP and Dell have got 4.2. Both HP and IBM rank high for their highly efficient servers and service and Dell secured 51.2% for its brand value. IBM is preferred by 9.4% of its existing users for its after-sales support and service.

As for loyalty, 98% of users who were currently using IBM said they're likely to stay with the brand in the future as well. HP comes next with 96%, followed by Dell at 95%. In a positive sign for IBM, 3% of HP users might migrate to its platform in future. About 5% Dell users are not sure about which other brand of server to pick in the coming months.

In the 500-999 segment, too, IBM satisfies its customers a lot with a mean satisfaction score of 4.3 out of 5, ranking above the 4.2 secured by HP and Dell, but a notch lower than the 4.4 garnered by HCL. Dell users said that it offered more value for money than the users of other servers.

Interestingly, HCL users in the category are the most loyal of the lot at 100%, staying ahead of IBM, HP and Dell, in that order. Among HP users, 2% each might switch to IBM and Dell in the future.
