projectors are now categorized in home entertainment seg-ment due to the changed usage pattern. With 3D building upsteam, now 3D ready projectors are the new in-thing and View-sonic has launched the PJD6531 DLP projector to take on this segment.

Thankfully majority of the projector is non-glossy. The lenshas zoom and focus ring on the top for adjustment. On the topside is a simple to use button panel with a large power button thatis lit up by a blue LED ring indicator. The projector has an Ether-net port for network connectivity, D-sub in/out, S-video, compos-ite video as well as 3.5” audio in alongside an HDMI 1.3 port for connectivity.

We tested the projector extensively by playing a number of videosand it did not disap-point us. The projectoris super bright, in-fact the intro white screen with the View sonic logo lit up the entire room! The 120Hz framerate makes the display blur free with outstanding clarity and su-perb details. The color reproduction was great in videos as well asgames. HD content looks superb with crystal clear details. The pro-jector is 3D ready, but the 3D glasses from Viewsonic need to be pur-chased separately for that.

The only thing that we found disappointing was the startuptime of the projector. Once switched on, the projector took about30 seconds to boot up and show the display.

Bottomline: At a price of RS 66,000, the projector isa great value for money, even though it is slightly out ofreach of the normal.
