In terms of processing power, the Nexus 7 is still ahead with its NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor. However, the iPad Mini does have a terrific advantage in terms of connectivity, as it boasts 4G/LTE capability. Also, Apple's app store boasts the greatest selection of apps specifically made for the iPad, which will work equally well on the iPad Mini. However, the main pain point for consumers could be the pricing of the iPad Mini. Many analysts had been predicting that Apple would price the device more competitively, along the same lines as the Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire HD. Apple might bet that customers shall be willing to pay US$130 more for its brand appeal and quality. In terms of customization and openness, the Nexus 7 takes the cake with the butter-smooth Jelly Bean OS. Apple also claims that iPad Mini's additional 0.9 inches offer a better browsing experience because of additional real estate. According to a Reuters press release, Nomura Equity Research has said that demand for the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD is not likely to be affected by the iPad Mini due to the significant price difference. While the iPad mini is set to be shipped in 34 countries globally, there is no official word yet about its availability in the Indian market.
