VKAAO, India’s ‘theatre-on-demand’ service enables individuals to choose the films that play in their local theatres. A user can register on the platform via a social media account or create a separate login. Next, you choose a particular movie that you would want to watch and send invites to your friends to join you during a particular time slot on a given day. You may also list the movie publicly on the platform so anyone who wishes to watch the movie can also join in. However, the payment has to be made in advance by each individual who wishes to join and the screening only happens once a minimum number of people confirm and pay.

The platform has previously organised pre-release screenings of critically-celebrated films such as LION and Split, democratising entertainment consumption across the country. By adding Rahul Bose’s Poorna to its movie library, VKAAO is pioneering the concept of on-demand movie screenings for like minded individuals sharing similar entertainment sensibilities through #LetsVKaoo.

Speaking on the announcement, Kamal Gianchandani, CEO PVR Pictures` said, “MalavathPoorna’s story is one of bravery, grit, determination, and the victory of the indomitable human spirit over seemingly insurmountable challenges. Rahul Bose’s Poorna does complete justice to its core material, and also subtly talks about sensitive issues like gender inequality, caste system, and social classes.Adding this movie to our library underlines our commitment to democratise entertainment consumption by making good cinema accessible and available to all Indian moviegoers. We want to ensure that works of such artistic and social merit from India and across the world get the public spotlight that they deserve.”

Released on March 31, Poorna charts the exploits of Poorna Malavath, a 13-year-old tribal girl from Telangana who went on to become the youngest girl to conquer Mount Everest. Aditi Inamdar portrays the titular character, while Arif Zakaria, Dhritiman Chatterjee, and Rahul Bose all shine in supporting roles. The movie was screened at the 2017 Palm Springs International Film Festival, where it got nominated on the festival's list of "30 Best Feature Films", and has been earned several rave reviews.
