Whatsapp New Feature

WhatsApp has made it simpler for users to decline obtrusive calls. The Meta instant messaging programme lets users block spam calls from unidentified contacts. Additionally, these calls might come from numbers outside of your contact list. The feature, made public earlier this week, is accessible on WhatsApp's stable mobile apps for iOS and Android. When a call from an unknown number is missed, users can still see it.

Mark Zuckerberg revealed a new function that lets WhatsApp users block calls

The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, revealed a new function this week that lets WhatsApp users block calls from people they don't know. Both stable versions of WhatsApp for iOS and Android have the capability. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, revealed that WhatsApp users can now block incoming calls from people they don't know.

This suggests that the previously noticed in-development functionality has started to roll out to all users. The setting is present in the most recent stable releases of WhatsApp for Android and iOS. Calls from unknown contacts won't bother users who enable the functionality, but the messaging app will still show the ring in the notification area and on the app itself. Users won't miss any incoming calls; instead, the function will only stop the phone from ringing, lessening the intrusive noise caused by strangers. Users can avoid disruptions by muting calls from unknown numbers because they will not ring, even though they will still receive these calls or a notification for a missed call if they do not see it.

Here are the steps you may take to put calls from unknown numbers on your WhatsApp call in silent mode:

  • Open WhatsApp on your mobile device.
  • Select the 'Privacy' option under 'Settings.'
  • Select the 'Calls' tab under the privacy option.
  • You can switch to "Silence Unknown Calls" here.

For iPhone users, the 'Settings' menu may be accessed by selecting the gear icon, while Android users can do so by choosing the there-dot option. Additionally, users can turn off the "Silence Unknown Calls" setting if they prefer to hear calls from contacts not saved in their contacts list, including spam calls. If users want to make sure to see essential calls from known numbers that are preserved, they can also select to save the numbers in their contact lists.
