WhatsApp, a well-known instant messaging service, continues to develop its user interface and add new features. WhatsApp is currently testing the feature that will let users block other users directly from the conversation list and notifications.

This feature will be added to WhatsApp in a new update (2.23.2.10) that is now being sent to select beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program. According to WABetaInfo's report, we have described how this new functionality would function in this section.

How is going to work?

According to the report, WhatsApp has only recently begun working on this feature, which will enable users to remove contacts from the chat list. Users will be able to block undesirable contacts in a different way thanks to this. A screenshot showing how this new feature will operate has also been included in the report.

WhatsApp will provide two new methods for blocking other users with this feature. The chat list will contain the first choice.

To block a contact without opening the particular chat, users can simply open the chat list—which may also be accessible within the app header in some cases. The second shortcut will be available in notifications and will only show up in a select few instances. For instance, when you get a message from someone you don't know.

Users will be able to block contacts without opening their chat information thanks to these two new shortcuts. If you receive a lot of messages from unknown or unwanted accounts, these options may come in handy.

In addition, the report asserts that a feature that enables users to quickly remove multiple contacts from the chat list at once may not be available in the coming days.

Currently, select beta testers who install the most recent update from the Google Play Store will have access to these new options for removing contacts from the chat list and blocking notifications. In the coming days, more users are expected to receive access to the new blocking feature.
