Which is the right smartphone to gift to my non-techy dad?

I want to gift a smartphone to my father, who is not very techy. He needs a smartphone which can play music, run WhatsApp and other social networks without any issues. Most importantly the device should have a durable design and good after sale service in Bangalore city. I am confused between Moto E 2nd Gen and Redmi 2. Please suggest.

We have reviewed both the smartphones and found them to be good for multitasking. Redmi 2 has an edge over Moto E because of its powerful specifications. However, we would recommend Moto E second generation in your case as its built quality is better and Motorola has better after sales service in Bangalore. They have also opened one Moto Care center in the city.
