Unlike most DSL routers that have an RJ45 connector for broadband, this router uses a dial-up two-wire RJ11 connector. Most ISPs in India provide this sort of broadband connection. So, if your office has a dial-up DSL broadband connection, this router can be of great value.
It has a built-in ADSL modem, an 802.11g WiFi access point and a 4-port 100 Mbps network switch. This allows both wired and wireless clients to connect to the Internet through this router. For security, it has a built-in firewall, IDS, DOS protection and VPN pass-through, which allows secure access to a VPN network.
Installing this router is simple and anyone can set it up using the 'smart detect wizard' in its Web interface.
We tested this router with a notebook having a BUFFALO 802.11g wireless PCMCI card. In the transfer tests, the wireless router gave a throughput of 16 Mbps and in streaming test, it gave a sustained throughput of 998 Kbps on streaming 1000 Kbps of UDP data for 20 secs. This means that the router performed very well.
The Bottom line: It's worth buying for small offices.
