XonPad 7 tablet from Oplus launches in India for Rs 9,990

Oplus, a Taiwan-based company has entered the tablet space in India with its XonPad 7 calling tablet priced at Rs 9,990. XonPad 7 is part of a hugely fragmented Indian tablet market that comprises of brands like Karbonn, Micromax, Swipe, Acer and Lenovo among others.

The company has positioned the XonPad 7 for the youth consumers who are tech-savvy and always like to be connected on-the-move. XonPad 7 comes with a 7 inch 1280x800 pixels display and running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean version. The tablet is well equipped with 1.2 GHz quad-core chipset clubbed with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB Nand flash storage expandable via microSD up to 32 GB.

In terms of connectivity, the XonPad 7 comes with host of options like 3G (via SIM), voice calling, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS among others. The slate is fitted with a 5 MP rear camera and 2 MP front snapper for video calling support.

In terms of looks and finish, the tablet is built around plastic body brushed with metallic finish for an elegant and sturdy look and weighing 310 grams, which makes it possible to carry around and convenient as a calling device. Topping the hardware, XonPad 7 comes with a 3500 mAh battery that could turn out to be an issue for a device that acts a calling device.

All in all, for its pricing XonPad 7 looks to be a competent device and can be seen competing with tablets like Google Nexus 7 (2012) and Micromax tablets among others.
