Update and Changed features

In a recent announcement, YouTube released a new update that allows users to manage their video recommendations. This update allows users to turn off video recommendations if they want to turn off their watch history.

Google's YouTube explained: "If you have YouTube watch history turned off starting today, and you don't have any significant past watch history, features that require watch history to make video recommendations, like the YouTube Home Stream, will be turned off."

As a result of this change, users can expect a different look and feel to their home page. The recommended video feed is no longer shown, so the search bar and the guide menu on the left are more visible.

This change aims to make searching, browsing subscribed channels and topic tabs easier. The availability of this feature will gradually expand to users over the coming months, which means that not all YouTube users may notice the change right away.

If you want to turn off your YouTube watch history, follow the steps:

YouTube has actively implemented changes to its platform to improve the viewership. The Google-owned company introduced a policy on fan channels in June. According to these rules, fan channel creators must clearly indicate that their channel is not officially affiliated with the original creator, artist or community. These policy changes will take effect on August 21, 2023.

With Multiview on the YouTube app, you can watch different games together, change the audio to hear the play-by-play when the action intensifies, and then go full screen to see all of the details.
