Amazon is known for its e-book catalogue, Kindle Paperwhite e-reader and Kindle Fire tablets but soon, the US-based retailer will be dealing itself in the smartphone space as well. We've been hearing murmurs about the smartphone and now folks at BGR have managed to grab design rendering of the device which carries Amazon's branding.

The above detailed image has been illustrated by Amazon graphic designers for internal use and as you can see, it reveals the front of the phone with big size tiles and three buttons on the side. While the back of the phone features two speaker grilles at the bottom. The phone is reported to be enabled to track the position of your head through several cameras and sensors and capable of displaying various 3D effects.

The report talks about the possible make of the Amazon smartphone which is expected to sport a 4.7-inch HD display, packed with quad-core chipset from Qualcomm, 2 GB RAM and fitted with 13 MP rear snapper.

It is highly likely that the smartphone will be running on Amazon version of Android just like the ones running on Kindle Fire tablets and in all likelihood, the company will be positioning the device in the value-for-money segment aka the Google Nexus range. We'll be hearing more about this smartphone in the coming months.
