#1 Avoid The Motherboard Static Bag

The motherboard is one of the hardiest and durable components used in a PC build. However, there is one thing that can damage the motherboard and that is the outside of the static bag it comes in. The static bag of the motherboard is supposed to protect from any external charges that can damage the motherboard but the outside of the static bag holds a lot of charges and placing the motherboard on it while building a PC can actually cause irreversible damage to the component. Always try to avoid placing your motherboard on the static bag.

#2 Do Not Place Your Cabinet on the Floor

Not everyone has access to customizable gaming desks and people often put their cabinets on the floor with the perception that it might run cooler and the airflow might be better. However, this is not the case and apart from the obvious risk of insects and other creatures getting inside your cabinet, the main risk comes from the power supply. The power supply will suck a lot of dust and if the dust gets into the power supply, it will make it less efficient. The dust in the cabinet is harmful and can damage a number of components in the cabinet. So it is always better to place your cabinet on an elevated platform to avoid this.

#3 Don't Rely on Cabinet Fans

Cabinets are becoming colourful and fancy with each passing day. Budget cabinets have started coming with 2-3 in-built fans and sometimes it is very hard maths to do. Most companies cut costs on these fans and go for looks more than cooling. This makes the system run hotter than it is supposed to be. It is always better to have some money saved and invest in good cabinet fans that can make sure that the PC runs cooler and can deliver the performance that you aim for. You can also try to shift your fans and experiment. You can move some fans to the top of the cabinet, or even to the rear. This might help in providing better airflow.

#4 Not Replacing Thermal Paste

The thermal paste helps your CPU and GPU run cooler. This cooling solution tends to dry out with time and this can affect the performance that your PC might be capable of delivering. You need to change the thermal paste of the CPU on a regular basis and this will help it run better and cooler. This also enhances the user experience.

#5 Opting for SSD in Budget Builds

For budget builds that cost around INR 30-40K, it is not necessary to go for an SSD especially if it is a 120 GB SSD. The amount of money that you are investing in an SSD can be saved and invested in upgrading the GPU. The GPU is the main component of a gaming PC build that can bring you fps. A 120 GB SSD will run out of storage very often, and you have to do the tedious job of sorting and deleting your files and data. An SSD is only capable of providing a snappier experience but one can wait for that. An HDD would be a better option, and you can actually store all your games and data without hesitating.

Avoiding these mistakes will help you use your PC for a longer time and also save you money in the long run.
